We manufacture a variety of laser welded square and rectangular hollow sections. We supply tubing mostly in stainless (304/L and 316/L) and carbon steel grades (S235, S355). That said, we can also accommodate less common materials, such as high strength steel (ex. S690, FineXcell 690, Dillmax 690, Weldox 700,…).
Profiles can be delivered in traditional lengths of 6 and 12 meters, or cut to size with a length tolerance of -0/+3 mm and a maximum bar length of 15 meters.

What differentiares Montanstahl’s rectangular hollow sections from traditional MAG-welded tubes widely available on the market?

Custom sizes

We can deliver tubes with special geometries and with different wall thicknesses. We are also able to manufacture slated and bent hollow sections. We manufacture tubes from laser-welded metal strips, which means that the only limitations lie in the raw material availability of the desired wall thicknesses.

Sharp-corners and edges

Our tubes have the distinctive feature of having sharp-corners, which is highly appreciated by architects as it allows for elegant and modern constructions. Minimal radii is also often preferred for functional purposes in structural and mechanical applications.

Tighter tolerances and better surface

Thanks to the significantly lower distortion during welding, laser-welded profiles can achieve much tighter tolerances on the overall geometry, torsion and straightness compared to conventionally welded profiles.

SR-Profiles are a more cost-efficient alternative to laser welded hollow sections. We hold on stock and supply the following SR tubes:

Mild steel (S235)
60mm width
6mm wall thickness
Bar length of 8m or 10m
